Pride of Canada
The A. V. Roe Canada Aviation Museum Association exists to honour of the Avro Arrow aircraft. The Avro Arrow was built for the military in the fifties. It was the most advanced military aircraft of its time and is an icon of Canadian aeronautical achievement.

The New Avro Arrow
Although construction of the actual aircraft was cancelled by government during its testing period, and then prototypes ordered destroyed, the Avro legend very much lives on. It is also the centre of much controversy. Volunteers at the A.V. Roe Canada Aviation Museum Association along with student teams and instructors have completed a smaller replica of the Avro Arrow.

Public Appreciation
The public can view the replica aircraft on the first Saturday of each month between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Its location is at Hangar 3, 164 MacLauren Dr, Springbank Airport. It is just north off Highway 1, at Calaway Park, on the west side of Calgary. Look for the “Avro Arrow” signs. Getting to view an austere piece of Canadian history, which took much money, creativity and time to recreate, is well worth the drive.
