Aquila Books was founded in 1984 by a knowledgeable and passionate antiquarian who is still today running the vibrant business. This bookstore is a true Canadian gem – a treasure trove for old-soul collectors and Canadian history buffs. Aquila specializes in and has some of the largest collections of material relating to Polar Exploration, Mountaineering, Western Canadiana, Early voyages, the Canadian Pacific Railway, and much more. In addition to books and rare collectables, the store stocks a plethora of historic art and photos, antique maps and prints, autograph letters, and antique scientific instruments. Check out Aquila’s lengthy catalogue of material pertaining to the history of the oil and gas industry, from early trade to the 19th century.
