Family-Oriented
Atlas Specialty Supermarket and Restaurant is located downtown and offers a comfortable family-style atmosphere. The menu of the restaurant is simple but filled with many traditional Persian dishes with their tongue-awakening spicing and combinations of sweet, sour and salty flavours. You can sample some of the classical Persian cuisine that has been developed over the last thousand years and delve into the culture of a country that makes the headlines without any mention of its cuisine.

Persian Cuisine
Like many cuisines of the Middle East and the Mediterranean, Persian cuisine emphasizes freshness. You can start off your meal with a classic dip like mast-o-esfenaj that is a spinach dip with yogourt and fried onions or a salad like the traditional saladeh shirazi full of tomatoes, cucumbers and onions and dressed with a zingy lemon dressing. For a main course, you can try one of their traditional khoreshts (stews). The most classic of these stews is fesenjoon. Fesenjoon is a chicken stew that is flavoured with walnuts, tart and slightly sweet pomegranate paste and slow cooked onions. Another classic dish is khoresht badenjan that is a combination of rich beef and fried eggplant in a flavourful tomato broth.

Kabobs and Deli
If you enjoy kabobs, there is a wide variety on offer at Atlas. You can try the joojeh kabob with marinated chicken breasts that varies from mild to as spicy as you want it or the koobideh kabob made with spiced ground beef. You can also browse the large selection of Persian and Middle Eastern products that stock the shelves of the grocery. They also offer kosher and halal meats and many different types of produce as well as a rainbow of different deli items.
