Balance Lounge and Eatery opened its doors in Calgary in the spring of 2008, and has fast been pronounced a success in the drink and food critic circles. Situated on the corner of 14th Street and 16 Avenue SW, this stylish urban hot spot has delicious cocktails, gourmet food, and a friendly vibe that makes those who come… stay. Soon after it opened, Balance made an appearance on En Route Magazine’s Top 25 Hot Spots in Canada list. Not bad for a newby! Obviously this restaurant owner knows the exactly the right formula for success in these parts!
On the Menu
The menu at Balance is not long and convoluted; it’s short and sweet and quite reasonable in price. If you’re in the mood for something light and tasty, try the Middle East salad, Tequila Fired Fresh Queso, Tempura of Veggies, or perhaps a kettle of Sautéed Mussels. For a main course, the choices are: Breast of Chicken (smothered in Dijon mustard cream), Blackened Pork, Pacific Salmon, or a fine slab of Alberta Sirloin. For those on the sweet side, try the decadent Churros & Chocolate, Macaroon Ice Cream Sandwiches, Pavlova with Passion fruit, or a simple, but scrumptious Chocolate Brownie Sundae.
