A Downtown Favourite
There are a number of reasons why the Barley Mill is such a hotspot in Calgary and why you should really consider making reservations no matter what day of the week you plan to be there. First off is the atmosphere. They didn’t cut corners when they built this building. There are three different patios to choose from during the warm summer months, including two on the main level and a wraparound on the second level. Inside you will find a carefully crafted décor consisting of imported and well-aged European wood. Housed in their own unique building just a few short steps from the Bow River, you won’t feel like you are only a couple blocks from the office. The Barley Mill was voted the Best Pub and Bar in Calgary in a survey of tourista by Where Magazine.
An Eclectic Menu
Seafood lovers will love all of the choices at the Barley Mill in Eau Claire. There are a number of succulent selections including the Miso Salmon Burger and their famous Guinness Crab and Asparagus Soup. If you aren’t a seafood lover, there are other specialties like the bison or the line up of flatbreads. Meals are reasonably priced and not too expensive considering the cuisine they cook up. Don’t fear though, if you prefer traditional pub grub, they do have all of the nachos, wings, dry ribs and calamari that you can handle.
Liquor Specialists
The liquor menu at the Barley Mill is another reason that people flock here. Their long bar is littered with 24 different beers on tap. The wine list is no slacker either and has a dozen red and ten white on it. Scotch lovers always appreciate the very long list of their favourite liquor and martini drinkers won’t be disappointed either. Add in a few big screens and some good service and you have all of the ingredients for an exceptional night out.
