French Roots
Having worked as a fashion designer in Paris since 1970, BCBG founder Max Azria decided to move to the United States in 1981 to woo Americans with his chic French designs. Upon his arrival in the New World, Azria opened a chain of women's clothing boutiques called Jess before founding the BCBG Max Azria house of fashion in 1989. The franchise now boasts hundreds of international locations throughout the globe including Canada, Italy, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Venezuela and Japan. In just a few short years, BCBG Max Azria established itself as one of the major players in the world of fashion and Montrealers have been quick to appreciate the label's chic line of men's and women's clothing apparel.
