Beamer’s opens early and the morning crowd looking for a coffee fix bustles in and out with a steady frequency. You can take coffee at the tables inside, or sit out on the patio if the weather or your fortitude allows. The shop is bright, with lots of windows on two fronts affording mountain views that make Canmore a special place. A river rock-faced fireplace is a very nice amenity if the weather is wintery outside. The shop brews and sells Beamer’s private label blends of coffees, each with a distinctive taste and names like 3 Sisters, Junkyard, Miner’s Blend, Old Goat, and Mocca Java.
Tasty Treats to Go With Your Coffee
When you enter Beamer’s you immediately run into a glass-fronted case that is filled with pastry delights that could stop traffic on the street. You might have to stand to the side to avoid impeding customers, but a view in the case discloses enormous muffins of various flavours, blueberry scones, cookies as big as saucers, health bars made of blackberry/peach or mixed berries, apple strudel, butter croissants, and other temptations. You cannot walk out with just a coffee.
Lunch and Light Dinners Served Here
If you arrive later in the day and want something to slake your hunger, the nice folks at Beamer’s can make you a sandwich. Try a BST, which combines bacon, spinach, and tomato. Or an egg sandwich, with the hard-boiled egg sliced and served with roasted red pepper, spinach, and onions. The Grassi Lake is a vegetarian sandwich, and the Miner’s has chicken, tomato, spinach, bacon, onion, and cheddar cheese. There are other offerings too, so check out the chalkboard above the coffee counter and then step up and order. This is no occasion to be bashful.
