Traditional English-Style Fare
If you like the tastes of the old country, you may want to check out the time-honoured recipes available at the Blind Beggar Pub. They offer a large variety of grub including English favourites like Beer Battered Fish and Chips, Shepard’s Pie, and a mean Hot Roast Beef dinner complete with homemade gravy, potatoes and Texas toast. But they did not copy their entire menu from the United Kingdom. You can also pick from house favourites like the Chicken Quesadilla, the Beggar Burger and a Thai Noodle Salad. One of their specialties is their “cut off the bone” dry ribs, which are tossed in your choice of sauce and served with ranch dip.

Keeping You Entertained
Thursday nights check out the Indie Jam. Get yourself or your group up on stage and audition for a spot in Friday night’s Indie Invasion, when Calgary’s hottest up and coming bands show patrons what they are made of. Saturday nights the Blind Beggar features a revolving show with one of four of the city’s favourite bands. If you consider yourself an up and comer, head on in Sunday afternoon for the Open Studio Jam – you will receive a CD of the recorded jam session a week later. There’s a reason why they refer to themselves as “Calgary’s Pub for Live Music.”
