A Traditional Butcher Shop
Bon Ton Meat Market has been doing business in various locations in Calgary since the 1930s, and the touch is still of a traditional butcher shop. The storefront windows are piled high with lamb chops, lamb roasts, legs of lamb, and some of the largest hams you have ever seen. When you step inside, directly in front of you is a large glass-fronted meat counter that contains just about any cut of beef you might have dreamt of. Hanging down from the ceiling and liberally distributed around the shop are large spools of butcher twine for wrapping parcels for customers. All of the butchers wear green bow ties, a traditional garb for this old-fashioned butcher shop.

Much More Than Just Beef
In addition to the finest cuts of AAA Alberta-raised beef, aged and trimmed to perfection, Bon Ton offers a number of delicacies that might not be found in many other stores. If you want to try rabbit, bison, elk or boar, they have it. You can also get free-range chickens and turkeys, goose, duck, Cornish game hens and even Guinea fowl if you want something exotic. There is a complete selection of sauces and marinades for all meats.

Deli Foods Also On Offer
Quite apart from the meats available, Bon Ton has a complete deli service that features sausages of all descriptions, cold cuts and salamis in an astonishing array, pâtés of all types, and a wide selection of cheeses. There are hot foods available for take-away, including barbequed baby-back ribs, whole roasted chickens and chicken parts, and signature meat pies made from pork, chicken, beef, or steak and kidney. The sausage rolls are flaky and delicious. If you are after meat, check out the offerings at Bon Ton.
