Ceramics for a Living
Should you find yourself wandering around downtown area, visit the only working ceramics studio at Art Central. The artist in residence has been working in ceramics since 1995. You’ll be surprised how diverse ceramics can be as an art medium.
Hard to Crack
It’s hard to crack what the art pieces at By Chance studio are for. The pieces are exceptionally diverse. It’s only in the telling by the artist that the pieces are organic functional art yet decorative as well. From a got-to-handle it mug, to an abstract of a person’s torso, everything is interpreted by the beholder. You can find vases, plates, mugs, boxes, teapots and containers too. Find larger-than-life sculptural art with a purpose or maybe just for show. However you interpret it, By Chance appeals both to the visual and intellectual audience.
A Pleasing Experience
Despite the lack of natural light in this lower level studio, the blue of the walls makes up for it. People in general are pleased and enjoy their studio experience. They either laugh at the art pieces or find humor and say it’s wacky. How can it not be? With such titles as “Man on a Mission,” or “Giving the Bull,” you’re sure to enjoy the space and experience.
