Caesar’s downtown has been a landmark in Calgary since 1972. They opened their second location on Macleod Trail south in 1985, when the single restaurant on 4th Ave just couldn’t keep up with the demand for their juicy steaks. In the red carpeted lounge, you’ll find plenty of drink and big screen televisions that are almost guaranteed to have sports on. There is party space in their downtown location; however, the south location can handle large parties as well. The wine list here is very large, with 70 different reds alone, leaving customers plenty of options for finding that perfect bottle to compliment their beef. They also claim to be the home of the original ‘Bloody Caesar.’
A Tradition of Perfectly Cooked Steaks
Being in business for so long in Calgary, there are plenty of second generation customers here that like to sit at the same table as their fathers did. And who can blame them, the folks here don’t compromise on quality, and the wait staff is professional. Appetizers include treats such as the escargot and the barbecue ribs. Main Courses consist of the rib eye or the New York steak, filet mignon or T-bone. The Chateaubriand for Two is prepared table side, and then there is the Ultimate, with filet mignon, broiled rock lobster tail, asparagus, and béarnaise sauce. Polish off your meal with some of the homemade cheese cake or perhaps the apple pie that is served with ice cream and rum sauce.
