What they do
The Cage is a great place to work out all the kinks in your swing without wearing out your family members. Since 1988, this athletic venue has been helping Calgarians improve their swings and keep up with the competition. There is no age requirement for batting at the cage. Preschoolers are as welcome as adults, as are seniors. Anyone who wants to swing a bat is welcome.
The season
As long as Mother Nature cooperates, the Cage opens its doors in March, giving folks plenty of time to practice up for any snow-pitch tournaments they may be playing in and to get in shape for the upcoming ball season. There are group and individual rates, and teams and other large parties are welcome to call ahead and reserve a spot. On a sunny afternoon, folks are welcome to sit down on one of the picnic tables and watch their friends or family members swing. Refreshments are available at the kiosk.
All types
The Cage welcomes all ability levels. Their seven cages offer slo-pitch, softball and baseball machines. For your child’s safety, they should always use helmets when batting. If needed, The Cage has a variety of sizes available for anyone to use. There is also an assortment of bats in different lengths and weights available to customers who do not have their own. All rentals are free of charge.
