A multi-use building
Since its inception in 1992, the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre has been a focal point for people of all ages to explore the unique and fascinating Chinese culture. The non-profit organization exhibits artifacts of Chinese studies and history in the form of an elaborate library, a cultural museum, a language school, a multi-purpose hall/gymnasium, a gift store and much more all wrapped into one building. The centre is open to the public year-round with the added bonus of free admission.

Chinese cultural services
The centre is a unique building with an imitative Hall of Prayers of the Temple of Heaven. Visitors will be in awe of the intricate designs including 561 dragons and 16 phoenixes. The centre also offers visitors extraordinary art exhibitions with world-class paintings, sculptures and other fine art displays on the second and third floors. The highlight of the centre is the Dr. Henry Fok Cultural Hall and its 70-foot high ceiling, modeled after the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. Another on-site amenity is the spacious Henry G.D. Chow Auditorium that has been home to a variety of concerts, plays, conventions, trade shows, exhibitions, Chinese opera, fashion shows and more for up to 700 patrons.

Chinese and English library services
The Orrin & Clara Christie Might Library is open for public use and offers a wealth of information on Chinese literature, history, artwork and culture, as well as a wide selection of popular fiction, specialized reference materials, video and audio cassettes. A significant collection of English books and bilingual publications about China and its culture make the library the best place to learn about Chinese culture. Members of the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre Association will receive a free library membership, although a deposit is required to validate a library card.
