The Calgary Climbing Centre strives to be more than just an indoor facility for climbing β itβs a place where the young and young at heart can have all the benefits of exercise and overcome challenges set up by the climbing team. The centre offers a place where people can step outside their comfort zone yet remain within a totally safe environment. If fear is holding you back from doing things in life, they try to foster a mindset that will give you the confidence to tackle obstacles you wouldn't normally try. Examples are: scaling a wall, jumping from a 20-foot ledge, or crossing a 30-foot span by rope.
Bring your next birthday party
While offering various levels of climbing programs for those who want to learn more about the sport and safety techniques, this location is popular with school tours, birthdays and corporate functions. Teamwork is extremely important in climbing and if you are looking to build on that as well as your confidence, this is where you'll find the tools you'll need to realize those lofty goals. Climbing provides continuous challenges and opportunities for growth, development and increased strength.
Working as a team
While safety is paramount, the exercise facilities are intended to encourage teamwork between individuals. So while one person climbs, the other guides and controls the safety equipment. Depending on the fitness level of the individuals involved, some use the facility to build stamina and strength or as a social environment. It has also been used to stage national competitions (the staff are all experienced climbers and members of the Association of Mountain Guides).
