If you’ve never tried hot yoga, then maybe a day at the Calgary Hot Yoga can help you change your mind. Their studio is heated to 105 degrees with 30 per cent humidity. What does it do? It allows the student to go deeper into the posture while detoxifying the body. Heal the body, strengthen the muscles and aid the spirit.
Turn up the heat
Calgary Hot Yoga offers two hot yoga styles, Vinyasa Flow and Hatha Yoga. All classes are drop in, and beginners and serious yoga practitioners alike are welcome. Students gain strength, balance and focus through a series of postures. There’s also a small retail area that sells mats, CDs and even special yoga towels. Plus they offer teacher training of up to 200 hours to put toward certification in teacher training level I.
Feel the love
A minimalist, one-level studio, Calgary Hot Yoga has plenty of room for an atmosphere that promotes acceptance and love. Many students keep coming back again and again because of this vibe, and because they love their instructors, the experience and the heat.
Reservations: Studios are open half an hour before classes; class cards are given preference over drop-ins
