Canyon Meadows is a lovely neighbourhood located in Calgary’s southwest. It is located just north of picturesque Fish Creek Park. This area began to be developed into a residential area in the early 1960s and the association was founded in 1963. It has a very active community, who are involved in keeping Canyon Meadows not only beautiful, but making it a great place to grow up and live.
Recreation
There are tons to do in Canyon Meadows; with the Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club, the Pool & Fitness Centre, and Fish Creek Provincial Park. At the heart of it all is the Canyon Meadows community centre. Here there are many local programs offered to the residents; from yoga, tai chi, Kumon Math for kids, and bridge for seniors. You can also sign your dog for training, go to girl guides, or meet new people at Mom & Tots.
Skating Rinks & Summer Fun
The centre also boasts two skating rinks, one which allows inline skating, and ball hockey in warmer months. Basketball nets for a good game with friends, skateboard ramps, and playing fields for any of your sporting needs. The community centre also has many different spaces, and even kitchens to rent out for events or community get-togethers.
