The Profile
Founded in 1970, the Central Alberta Theatre, known to area residents as CAT. is the heart of Central Alberta’s performing arts scene. Each year the venue hosts a wide variety of events. Last year’s total was more than 175. Performances range from dinner theatre to musical productions for children. The theatre is committed to improving the community by providing artists diverse opportunities and entertainment options to the public.

What’s In Store
Instead of going to the movies all the time, why not check out the wide range of performances at the Central Alberta Theatre. They regularly put on a number of dinner theatres that will make you laugh, cry and contemplate. Fill your plate with some of the delicious creations from their chef to keep your strength. For theatre without the meal, you have plenty of options. Various productions run throughout the year and new and entertaining performances are being produced all the time. You will find everything from dramas to independent films and musical productions.

The Venue
If the venue is not previously booked, private rentals are welcome at the Central Alberta Theatre. There are two venues that can be used by the public. The Memorial Centre theatre holds 766 guests and the CAT studios can house alternative performances, workshops, rehearsals and more.
