Coffees are the Specialty
Cochrane Coffee Traders roasts and sells fair trade certified coffees under its own brand name. The list of varieties is extensive and includes names like Howling Coyote, Peru medium and dark roast, Nicaraguan medium dark roast, Mexican light roast, Komodo medium roast, and Sumatra dark roast and decaf. Flavoured coffees are also available including butter pecan, Irish cream, hazelnut cream, butterscotch, and butter pecan. All varieties are for sale in the cafe.
Coffee and Eats at the Cafe
The cafe is set in a log cabin, complete with a wood-burning fireplace, and seating for patrons on the ground floor and in a loft above. You can order the coffee, espresso, or cappuccino of your choice, and accompany it with a wide variety of fresh-baked treats. Biscotti, scones, cinnamon rolls, and cookies are on offer, as are muffins. The muffin choices include raisin bran, mixed fruit, banana, cranberry, ginger raisin, blueberry, chocolate cake, rhubarb walnut, and fruit bran. Iced lattes are also on the menu.

In addition to coffees, the cafe sells a line of teas from Metropolitan Tea Company, with flavours like Bourbon Street Vanilla Rooibos, Kidstea Tutti Frutti, Organic Cranberry Apple, Organic Rooibos, and Hunny Rooibos. There are gift items like mugs, coffee machines, and brewing accessories. Chocolates are on offer from Truffle Pig, a brand of pure Belgian milk chocolate that invites you to “wallow in chocolate truffle heaven”.
