Mindscapes
Prepare for a journey outside of the Creative Kids Museum's walls and into Alberta's diverse landscapes. Crawl through and around magnificent caves and rocks or scale up to nest on a Hoodoo. Surrounded by a wall-to-wall mural of Alberta's unique landscapes, visitors will truly feel as though they have been transported into nature's playground.
Theatre
Experience all the roles ¬ star actor, lighting designer, costumer or director. Dress up in costumes, read over the script and 'walk the planks'. Don't forget to try the little theatre - as you bring a puppet to life! Or try out your dance moves in front of the mirrors. There's lots of fun for the dramatically inclined and the audiences are equally important.
Perception
Logic and perspective are thrown out the window in this exhibit. Through perceptual distortions and interactive games, your eyes will play tricks on you as you try to wrap your head around the unreal. By asking “is this reality?” visitors will learn to look with more attention at the world around them.
Scribble Dee Dee
Throw out all the rules, it's time to draw, paint and decorate everything in sight! Walls, floors and giant computer screens are all fair game for creating your finest masterpieces. The CKM will provide guests with a plethora of materials, big and small, conventional and unconventional to bring artwork to life.
Sound and Music
Explore traditional ways to make music or let loose recording, creating and experimenting with rhythm, notes, silence and sounds! Perform on percussion, string and wind instruments in the Performance Space or stomp out a tune in the Sound Pool and down the Sound Wave. Whether it's rock, jazz, country or a genre all of your own, “Sound and Music” will give visitors the chance to explore all that music has to offer.
