No, you won’t have to roll down the windows after a trip here, but they do have gas. The kind you put in your car that is. They also have diesel and propane. It may not be what you would expect at an establishment called Crete Souvlaki, but it’s true, it’s a gas station and Greek restaurant all in one. They are located on the 2600 block of 17th Ave SW just west of Crowchild Trail. In addition to the restaurant and gas pumps, there is also their convenience store where they do sell those chips and pop if that is in fact what you really want.
Greek on the Go
Crete Souvlaki has a full menu even though they are part gas station. There are a number of chicken dishes including souvlaki and souvlaki wraps as well as skewers. There are also lamb dishes and pork of course. If you are the sandwich type, why not try out one of the gyros, also known as a Greek donair. There is calamari, vegetarian wraps, dolmades and a few salads to choose from. Kids have their own menu with choices like the lamb stick with fries and a salad. Everything is priced appropriately for the setting and is available for delivery or take out or you can sit down at the counter and enjoy your meal.
