Never been to D'Arcy Ranch? Make the trip and enjoy a sense of serendipity. Calgarians head south of the city for the privilege of playing here, and what they stumble on is a superb golf course. It may be a public facility, but golfers in the know believe it ranks among the best private layouts in Alberta.
A View of the Rockies
D’Arcy Ranch, which opened for play in 1991, is nestled in the Alberta Foothills and provides panoramic views of the Rockies. Built on rolling land, featuring large ravines, escarpments, slopes, some water, and natural heavy rough, good players will have all they can handle from the back tees. The course is walkable for a fit player, but there are some steep climbs, so those looking for a more casual round may want to rent a cart. And if you tend to spray the ball left, or right, bring along an extra half dozen balls, because the rough will eat them up.
A full-service, luxury facility, D’Arcy Ranch offers the following to its guests: clubhouse, pro shop, lessons, outdoor driving range, putting green, practice chipping area, practice bunker,, power cart rentals, pull cart rentals, club rentals, club repairs, CPGA professional, golf lessons, snack bar, coffee shop. The course is also an excellent choice for catered events, such as weddings, conferences or fundraisers, with an attractive dining room, lounge and outdoor patio. Packages are available.
