The scene
A red brick exterior leads through rounded doorways and dark wood flooring to bring the atmosphere of a European-style pub. Located downtown in the historic Electric Avenue district, the pub helps patrons enjoy a casual after work drink. District caters largely to a middle-aged and young adult crowd.
The grub
The most intriguing menu aspect appears to be the home-made bacon. Yes, they make their own bacon. An oyster bar also exists for those with a taste for the ocean. Organic food is the theme of this pub, which sets it in a different league than most. All the breads are baked in-house and all the menu ingredients are organically grown.
The song
Local Calgary and out of town bands and eager music fans can meet up and celebrate a shared appreciation for the art. Live music, with a focus on folk, is open for listening Thursday through Saturday nights.
