The Place
On the corner of 17th Ave and 1st Street SW sits an historic red brick house that is home to a wine and oyster bar known as The Embarcadero. This restaurant features a European décor on the main floor wine bar, The Pearl Bay dining room, where the sun shines, and a second floor Gallery where you will be surrounded by Asian artwork. During the warmer months of the Calgary climate, patrons can take advantage of the south-facing patio, a great place to sit and enjoy some of their fine wines.
Famous Food
The Embarcadero Wine & Oyster Bar is known for two things, and their name says it all. Customers can choose from a number of oyster dishes including the likes of Oysters Florentine, oysters sautéed with spinach and topped with a white wine sauce. There are also Oysters Rockefeller, oysters sautéed with watercress and onion in a Pernod herb sauce. Wash them down with something from the large selection of wine. They have a huge list that includes everything from full-bodied reds to champagne and sake.
