The Fabric Cottage’s dedicated quilters get together on the last Friday of each month to craft an heirloom blanket, and then donate the finished product to Calgary area hospices. The Fabric Cottage provides all the supplies and quilters receive a 15 per cent discount on purchases made that day for donating their time. On the first Thursday of the month, join the staff for complimentary coffee and snacks while sharing ideas and learning about new kits and patterns.
Sewing machine service
In addition to the afternoon or evening training sessions available for the new Bernina sewing machines, this retailer provides basic cleaning and adjustments for all Bernina sergers and sewing machines at a flat rate. No appointments are necessary, just drop in, but be sure to come with your power cord, bobbin, foot pedal, thread and a sample if you are having a specific problem.
