The Big Picture
Those often out and about on Beddington Trail or Harvest Hills Boulevard northwest recently, you’ve likely spotted the prominent and roomy roadside restaurant appropriately named the Flight Deck International Bar & Grill. Founded by a crew of West Jet pilots, this impressive new pub and eatery features fantastic food, refreshing drinks, live entertainment and dancing, all presented through an up-beat and fun aviation theme — including a wing-shaped roof line. Word on the runway is, the food, the service and the views make this place a flying success!
On the Menu
Look for a broad assortment of savoury menu choices, including plenty of Canadian favourites and a pleasantly surprising selection of exotic treats. In the Pre-Flight category, share ribs, wings, escargot, Northrop’s Nachos, Mini-Perogies, or the ever-popular Stuffed Yorkies, which are traditional Yorkshire Puddings stuffed with Alberta beef and topped with homemade gravy and creamy horseradish sauce. On the lighter side, sample homemade soups, fresh salads, wraps and sandwiches – including the Mile High Club, which teeters on the plate with layers of charbroiled chicken,bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes and mayo, all on a toasted panini. Along the main course lines, choose from burgers, steaks, chicken, ribs, pork chops, lamb, pizza, pasta, seafood, and a variety of unique International dishes. For dessert, if you’ve somehow managed to leave some room there are five choices available, including a white chocolate banana cream pie, and a double-decker hot fudge brownie.
