Globe Fish Sushi and Izakaya is an Izakaya style Japanese restaurant. Izakaya means Japanese Tapas Bar. This kind of establishment is a common kind of Japanese bar or restaurant popular in Japan for after work drinking and dining. It is a more animated kind of restaurant and closer in Japanese restaurant tradition. Many plates of food are served with plenty of beer and sake in an atmosphere of lively music and good cheer. This restaurant is in a prime location easily accessible right on 14 Street N.W. and is easy to spot. It is very spacious inside and is both bright and modern looking. With plenty of seating, Globe Fish is perfect for special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries or office parties. Although fairly new to Calgary, Globe Fish has already received rave reviews from locals and well known restaurant reviewers like John Gilchrist.
Adventurous and Creative
The menu includes traditional Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Sashimi and Teriyaki dishes. Each dish is presented in a colourful and appealing way. A full selection of sushi, rolls, sashimi, tempura, noodles and appetizers will satisfy your cravings for fresh and tasty Japanese fare. The rolls are prepared fat and are a luscious delight to the taste buds. Special party menus have also been created to cater to larger gatherings. The beverage list is extensive including domestic and imported beers, house wines along with a full listing of Japanese favourites including hot sake, classic premium sake and Japanese shochu vodka.
