The spot
Located in a strip mall on MacLeod Trail, this restaurant, marked by a yellow sign, could be easily over-looked in the shadow of Chinook Center. However, once you enter, the décor reflects an Asian dining sanctuary. Paper lanterns offer soft diffused light and Vietnamese wall art portrays eastern culture, and sets the scene for your meal.
The fare
Patrons can expect all their favourite pho, vermicelli and stir fry dishes, along with Vietnamese subs and Thai inspired hot plates. A staple and well known dish is the charbroiled pork and spring rolls on vermicelli noodles, which provides enough food to fill even the hungriest of appetites. And don’t forget the dessert - it’s always worth a try. Fried bananas and ice cream or jelly in coconut milk, are a couple of choices to consider.
The people
Golden Bell is sure to lure you back with top notch service, cheap prices and great food. The staff is always happy and willing to suggest a great traditional dish and create a comfortable atmosphere for the regular patrons and those who are new to Vietnamese cuisine. Take out is also an option.
