The Place
Accessible by bike, foot, car, (and perhaps, in a pinch, canoe, kayak or sailboat), the Good Earth Cafe at Glenmore is a great place to stop in for some picnic take-out or to snuggle up with a good book and a hot drink when a squall kicks up.
Located beside the Glenmore Reservoir, and just off the pathway, it is a bustling place on a sunny summer weekend. Locally-roasted coffee is one of the main draws, but there is also the usual range of Good Earth baked goods (TGE virgins beware — the berry and white chocolate scones appear to be highly addictive).
There is also a range of hot entrees for breakfast, lunch and dinner, all done in that Good Earth it feels "good for ya even if it really ain't" kind of vein. Live entertainment Thursday nights, or just sit on the patio and watch the sun go down over southwest Calgary. Ahoy mateys.
