If free association of the name ‘Graze’ makes you think of cattle, you’re in the right zone for what this place is serving up. Graze is a beef-only establishment, located in the Executive Royal Inn in North Calgary. Don’t ask for pig, chicken or fish – these snorting, pecking, swimming species have no place at Graze. Just ask for superb Grade A beef, and you won’t be disappointed.
The Menu
It’s true – the menu is seven feet tall. This means it doesn’t come to you - you have to go to it. What you will see when you get there is roughly 10 delicious beef selections, each served with grilled asparagus and a deluxe stuffed potato. There’s T-bone, beef tenderloin, prime rib, rib eye, beef ribs, burgers, and so on. As you explore your options, you are invited to sample delicious steak bites while consulting with the chef about exactly which selection is perfect for your craving. If all of this isn’t enough to excite your taste buds, take a stroll by the salad bar – home to more than hundred fresh items.
The Challenge
Some people enjoy a challenge when they go out to eat. Graze considers its 5 lb challenge one of the best in town. When you take the ‘Graze Grill 5 lb Challenge’ you are presented with 80 ounces of perfectly grilled beef, asparagus and a stuffed potato – all which must be consumed in one hour. If you succeed – your meal is free! If you don’t, you get to take home the leftovers and have steak for a week.
