One of the most popular ways to travel the country is by Greyhound, a term that's synonymous with the word "bus." Greyhound is one of the oldest transportation service providers in the country and it’s still just as easy to go Greyhound. Onboard amenities include air conditioning, restrooms, reclining seats and movies on some routes.
Greyhound annually carries more than two million Canadians on its fleet of more than 400 buses, traveling to more than a thousand destinations in Canada. In major cities, close to the U.S. border, there are special interline transfers to cut down on the inconvenience of switching buses en route. The company also has special fares for seniors and family rates, so why not take the whole clan down to Florida for the holidays?
If you're planning to take a trip by bus, it's best to check into the terminal at least a half-hour early. On special occasions, like the Christmas rush, arrive at least an hour before departure. Once you're at the terminal, you'll be able to buy a ticket, get a baggage check at the gate and carry your belongings to the coach. Also ensure that your luggage is properly identified with appropriate identification, including tags. Have a great trip!
