For a greater cause
There’s no better time to join the “green movement,” than now. So before you throw anything away that will end up in a landfill, think again. Habitat for Humanity ReStore has been open in Calgary since 1998, selling and accepting new and used furniture, appliances and building materials that are then sold to the public at lower prices. All of the products found in the Habitat for Humanity ReStore are donations from Calgarians and businesses.

Helping both ways
No doubt that everyone has in some form or other been bitten by the recycling bug. In fact, it’s becoming fashionable to scour for old items made new. Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore accepts donations, sells products and even has volunteer opportunities in their store. They’ve got a selection from lighting, furniture, plumbing fixtures, new and used appliances, and flooring and building materials. The cycle doesn’t end there either: 100 per cent of their proceeds go into building affordable homes for deserving families.

The ReStore
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore looks like any retail outlet. Since they accept donations, their huge inventory changes day to day. Get the family involved whether you’re bringing in used or new items or buying stuff for your home.
