A year-round working and guest ranch, Homeplace Ranch is located 50 km southwest of the city of Calgary in the beautiful Alberta foothills near Priddis, AB. Originally homesteaded in 1912, the ranch now offers visitors from around the world the opportunity to experience a little bit of the old west combined with modern accommodations and more natural beauty than you can imagine. They are open year round, rain or shine.
The cowboy life
Up to 14 guests can stay in the lodge here. They enjoy private rooms with their own personal bathroom and shower, but get together in the living and dining area where meals are served family style and guests and staff interact and get to know each other. If you are flying in from out of town, the staff will come fetch you at the airport. They’ll bring you out to the ranch where you will meet your horse, enjoy some fine Alberta beef and settle in to the cowboy life.
Things to do
A down-home friendly guest ranch, the Homeplace allows visitors the chance to learn riding skills, catch some fish, play golf at a nearby course, fill up on home-cooked meals or relax in a Jacuzzi. During the summer, enjoy all day trail rides with magnificent views of the Canadian Rockies and in winter, pack along your cross-country skis. The lodge includes private rooms and baths with a communal living room centered around a wood-burning stove and fireplace.
