Tattoos are decorative body modifications that have been used by a myriad of societies around the globe for centuries. The first usage of the word tattoo in English was recorded in the diary of Captain James Cook in 1769, during his voyage to the Marquesas Islands in Polynesia. The sailors on Cook’s voyage saw tattoos on Polynesian natives, and brought the practice to Europe. The popularity of tattooing has waxed and waned over time, but it is now generally accepted as an art form. The artists at Immaculate Concept carry on this tradition.
Choosing or Creating the Right Tattoo for You
Tattoos are used for a variety of purposes – cosmetic, sentimental, memorial, talismans, affiliation, devotion – among many others. Each tattoo is therefore as personal and individual as are the clients. Some tattoos are done from standard artwork, known as flash art, and some are customized and individual. Each client is encouraged to consult with the artist to make sure that exactly the right thing is applied. Costs vary depending on the size and complexity of the artwork.
Hygiene Is Priority One
Immaculate Concept is, in a word immaculate. It is properly equipped with biohazard containment for all objects that have come into contact with blood or other bodily fluids, and has sharps containers for disposal of all needles and other one-time use only instruments. All tools are completely sterilized in an autoclave, and studio facilities are disinfected and sterilized as would befit an operating theatre. Complete after-care instructions are given to all clients to ensure that results are of the highest quality.
