Innisfail is near enough to Calgary to have become a summer and weekend getaway, with people either camping or using the RV parks. Stores have opened up in Innisfail to cater to both locals and tourists alike. Innisfail Antiques and Curious opened in 2007 more as a housewife’s hobby, and is now becoming an Innisfail landmark and known proprietor of Russian and Baltic amber jewelry.
From Russia with Love
What started out as a hobby is now a full-fledged antique shop in Innisfail. The Russian connection can be seen in the choice of antiques, jewelry and other treasures imported from northern Asia. This shop also carries fine antique furniture, porcelain, and Beswick and Royal Doulton china. But if you’re looking for something different, they carry genuine Baltic amber jewelry, Russian religious icons, and even stackable Matryoska dolls.
Three Small Rooms
This antique shop is made up of three little rooms that serve different functions. One room has lots of old English furniture; another has Canadian folk art and the last showcases vintage clothing, jewelry and books. With its big windows and folk art air about it, this shop is a good stop on your next Innisfail visit.
