Profile
New Coffee House on the Block
A new coffee house in coffee-crazed Calgary is always a welcome addition. Insomnia Coffee Company opened its downtown doors in the historic Burns Building on July 1, 2009 to the delight of those seeking a fresh cup of brew. Insomnia Coffee Company begs to differ as it serves only French Press coffee, thus being able to offer more flavourful coffees than a regular drift coffee.
Fresh French Brews and Gourmet Cupcakes
Insomnia Coffee Company serves four types of French Press coffee, mainly Guatemalan, Costa Rican, Ethiopian and Kenyan, with more in the works for a house special. Pair up your brew with home-made biscuits baked on site or have a sandwich or yoghurt parfait. You might also want to try any of their original cupcakes, such as Oreo, Chocolate Decadence, Blueberry and Pink Velvet. Come for breakfast or light lunch.
A View of Olympic Plaza
Insomnia Coffee Company is a delightful mix of the old with the new. The architectural integrity of the place together with the sleek stainless steel, warm leather couches, crown moulding and the coffee bar just makes for a relaxing place to sit or read the latest headlines as one sips a cup of fresh brew.
