All About Joycee
You will find Joycee’s Caribbean just north of Memorial Drive and just off of Edmonton Trail. This little Caribbean diner brings you all of the most popular flavours of the tropics in a casual, counter type atmosphere that is part market, part restaurant. They have been a part of the Calgary cuisine scene since 1994 and have a loyal following of patrons who can’t get enough of their food. It is not a big place, there are only ten seats available and they don’t serve alcohol, but they do bring a friendly smile to the counter along with some seriously authentic food.
A Caribbean Menu
The obvious dish you probably think of when you think Caribbean is Jerk Chicken, and as it happens, that is the most popular item at Joycee’s. It isn’t the only one though, a close second is the Stewed Oxtail. There are a number of rotisseries that include selections like chicken, curried goat, beef, shrimp and vegetable. They do cater as well, but are a bit picky about when they will do it. In the past they have done functions for up to 200 people.
Hot Hot Groceries
If you are looking for some serious hot sauce, then Joycee’s should be your next stop. They have a large variety of flavours that will do anything from warm your mouth to make you cry. There is a selection of Jamaican yams, pumpkins and other root vegetables for sale as well as Jamaican patties that come either frozen or baked. You will find seasonal and holiday goods here also.
