Specialists in pine furniture, architectural rarities, religious artifacts and more, Junktiques sells items “as found”, along with custom-made furniture consisting of one-of-a-kind reproduction pieces handmade from old or new wood and designed to last a lifetime. The stock includes antique pine flooring and pine doors, cast iron fencing and gates, iron wine cellar doors, garden stuff and more.
Piece Makers
Junktiques was started in 1983 by couple David and Marie Kaufman, who go on several buying trips each year to hunt down pieces their customers would never find, from as far away as Eastern Europe and China. The store in the Inglewood district reflects their passion for unusual and eclectic furniture, along with their own reproductions handmade with mortise and tenon constructions, many of which are built to customer specifications. Whatever the store does not have, they can make for people, often using old wood, doors, moulding and hardware.
Custom Creativity
Reproductions and custom furniture from Junktiques includes kitchen islands and cabinets made from antique doors, panels and pine, plus storage cabinets, cupboards and wardrobes that use antique hinges and knobs. Tables created according to client specifications combine antique panels with new wood. Refinishing and restoration services are available through the store’s warehouse.
