The place
Remember the '50s? Elvis was the King, bikers weren't outlaws (although your parents wouldn't let you date one), and everyone's favourite meeting place was the diner. Well, if rap and hip-hop is driving you crazy and you're in the mood for a little bit of '50s nostalgia, start your engine and head on down to Inglewood to check out Kane's Harley Diner.

Vintage decor
Don't be intimidated by the Harley sitting in the window. There's no need for your leathers here! Ages that frequent Kane's range from teenagers to the over-50 crowd, and while you'll find a few aging bikers lounging around, you'll discover the atmosphere here is very bright and genuinely friendly.

The food
Choose from classic combinations that have been pleasing family and friends for decades. On the menu are hearty favourites like macaroni and cheese, burgers, meatloaf and toasted sandwiches. Diners opt for full or half orders, with the larger size enough for those with hollow legs. The fries are crunchy and delicious, and are among the most-ordered sides. They can be topped with gravy, chili or be served as poutine. The creamy macaroni, which is made with four kinds of different cheese, is also recommended, as is the burger, (made with real ground beef). The Roadkill (liver and onions) is sure to please fans of this old-fashioned dish. There's also a peanut butter and banana sandwich - Elvis's fave snack!

Suck back a cold one
A major hit are Kane’s milkshakes, made with real milk and ice-cream and topped with a cherry. Again, they're huge, so you won't be disappointed. So, grab your blue suede shoes and stroll down memory lane at Kane's Harley Diner.
