Elegant Atmosphere
La Paella Spanish Restaurant, also known as La Paella Restaurante Español, is located in the heart of downtown Calgary on the corner of 8th Street and 6th Avenue. The restaurant has a quaint yet elegant atmosphere boasting walls beautifully decorated with Spanish artefacts. The owner, Abdul Kadril, has gone to great lengths to create an authentic Spanish dining experience, including arched windows and walls and accenting with images of bullfights combined. Subtle Spanish music in the background, excellent service, and mouth-watering food rounds off this singular Calgary dining experience.

Authentic Spanish Cuisine
Diners will be pleased with the fine Spanish cuisine selections ranging from smoked salmon tapas to lobster soup. For lunch, diners may select from a variety of options such as pasta, sandwiches, salads, seafood, veal and steak. Customers who dine at La Paella for lunch or dinner must try the mouth-watering paella à la Valenciana, a dish comprised of spicy chicken, lobster, prawns, clams, mussels, calamari, and rice with saffron. Other house specialties served for dinner include escalope marsala (slices of tenderloin sautéed in a marsala sauce), or for a truly unique dining experience, diners can order the conejo cazadroa (tender young rabbit). As a special treat, La Paella offers an excellent dessert selection including the house specialty - custard served with ice cream and topped off with whipped cream and fruit.

Relax After Work
While La Paella’s location is convenient for the daily lunch crowd looking for more sustenance than a cold sandwich, it is also a relaxing place to finish off your workday. Customers can sit back and unwind in the lounge located adjacent to the restaurant. The friendly staff will be pleased to serve you a variety of domestic and international wines and spirits. Come and join them for a taste of Spain in their comfortable and authentic setting.
