This 14-minute journey on the Lake Louise Sightseeing Gondola is a ride you don't want to miss. When the snow melts and nature blooms, put away your ski boots and slip on your hiking boots for a different perspective of this world-renowned resort. A spectacular view of glacier-dressed peaks and the incredible beauty of Lake Louise awaits.
The Ride
Sit back and watch the wildflowers and wildlife roll and stroll beneath your open chair, bubble chair, or fully enclosed gondola as you travel up the front side of Mt. Whitehorn. You'll reach a 2,016-metre (6,610 foot) vantage point, where the world spreads out beneath you. There's nothing like letting your feet dangle in the crisp mountain air as the chair lift whisks you up the mountain. If you are a bit nervous about height, however, you can opt for the fully enclosed gondola.
The Extras
Interpretive guides are available to escort you on nature walks and point out the unique vegetation and landscape of the area. Enjoy breakfast or lunch at the new Lodge of the Ten Peaks or grab a snack at the deli at Whitehorn Lodge. Souvenir hunters can cruise through the gift shop, but the view and the clean fresh air are the best souvenir of all.
