Foreign Treat
Mariachi musical bands originate from the Mexican region of Cocula, where they perform at social gatherings. These eight-member troupes may be common in Cocula, but in Calgary Mariachis are a foreign treat, an encounter with Mexican culture. Such an encounter will be yours at Los Mariachis Restaurant, where the food, décor, and staff are as Mexican as Mariachis themselves.
Authentically Mexican
Los Mariachis Restaurant serves authentic Mexican food: their many menu items are all dishes commonly served in Mexico. All of the salsa, sauces, dressings, and dishes served at Los Mariachis are made in-house. Los Mariachis prepares each of their dishes according to original family recipes brought with them from Mexico. Popular menu items include the following: pozole, a Mexican stew made with pork, corn, and red chile peppers; the Mexican Platter, which includes a pork chop, enchiladas, burritos, chimichangas, and a chicken tostada; and the Azteca Platter, with a chile relleno, flautas, quesadillas, entomatadas and a beef tostada. Both these platters will feed two people.
Fiesta Fun
Los Mariachis Restaurant offers a full bar, with a focus on Margaritas, Tequila, bottled Corona, and Micheladas (Mexican beer mixed with tomato juice, lime juice, and spicy sauces). Los Mariachis occasionally offers live music, even hosting real Mariachi bands.
