European Home Cooking
It’s just like your grandma used to make at Margarita’s Dishes. Even though the name may sound a bit Spanish, the cooking is not like anything you will find in Spain. Instead, the recipes here hail from more eastern European nations like the Ukraine and Germany. Everything is made by hand and served specifically for your pleasure when you visit Margarita’s at the Calgary Farmer’s Market. Along with their freshly prepared meals that are meant for immediate enjoyment and satisfaction, they also have a select number of frozen take-home dishes that are perfect for feeding the whole family when you just don’t have time to do all of the work yourself.

Margarita’s Menu
If you are looking for a traditional meal, start of with some of the homemade borscht served here. For anyone not familiar with the dish, it is a classic European soup made with numerous vegetables, most usually including beets and cabbage. Next, you may want to choose a typical regional recipe like the bratwurst, or maybe the schnitzel. They both go great with cabbage rolls or perogies. Other side dishes include stuffed peppers, potato salad, latkas, pancakes, blintzes, knishes and more. Round out your meal with a fruit or poppy seed strudel or some fruit salad. The juice bar has selections like fresh squeezed orange juice and homemade lemonade.
