The modern interior, classy surroundings, comfortable booths and high-quality cuisine make the Metropolitan Grill the place to head to for either lunch or dinner any day of the week. Their downtown location in TD Square sees plenty of folk pouring through the doors every day for an extended business lunch, and their 16 Avenue has a popular upstairs patio for people-watching along 17 Avenue and the adjacent busy park. Regardless of which location you plan to visit, however, reservations are not a bad idea during the weekend. The “Met”, as the restaurant is affectionately called by staff and regulars, takes pride in exceptional service without pretence. For an added incentive, staff were voted the sexiest in Calgary in 2007 by a much-read local magazine. The executive chef has been the recipient of numerous awards throughout his career and brings innovative ideas served with flair to the menu.

Saturday and Sundays between 11am and 2pm customers can partake in a scrumptious brunch menu that includes selections such as the Banana Bread French Toast, the B.C. Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict and the King Crab Frittata. During the week you may want to try the BBQ Baby Back Ribs or perhaps the Blackened Cajun Chicken. Dinner time brings on more seafood, succulent Alberta beef dishes as well as pastas, salads and desserts. There are a number of sandwiches and soups, appetizers and more on the menu here also.
