Market Operator
The Millarville Farmers’ Market is organized and operated by the Millarville Racing & Agricultural Society. That Society is one of Alberta’s oldest organized community associations, and its racetrack is located about thirty minutes driving time southwest of Calgary in the scenic foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The Market was originally conceived as a marketplace for local people to display and sell their produce. Vendors from outside the community can obtain permission to sell their products and articles at the Market only if they can demonstrate that the items are not locally available.

What You Will Find There
The Millarville Farmers’ Market touts itself as Alberta’s largest outdoor market, with over 160 vendors displaying and selling their wares. The vendors vary somewhat from year to year, with new vendors joining the Market regularly, so you may see different products from week to week. Typically you will be able to purchase such things as locally produced fresh fruits and vegetables; meat and meat products; a wide range of gift items; baked goods including pies, cakes and cookies; artworks and local craft items; and much more. Breakfast is available from concessionaires on the grounds, and there is local entertainment at the gazebo in the heart of the Market.

When and Where
The Market operates at the Millarville Race Track. To reach the Track, travel south on Macleod Trail to the intersection with the Marquis de Lorne Trail (Hwy 22X), proceed west to the intersection with Highway 22, then south to the junction with Highway 549. Turn east on Highway 549 and follow the signs to the Track. The Market is open from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. each Saturday, rain or shine, from the second Saturday in June through the first Saturday in October. Admission to the Market is free, but there is a parking fee of $2 per car. No dogs are allowed and rubber boots are recommended footwear if the weather is wet.
