Named after Spanish bandit Joaquin Murrieta, aka the "Robin Hood of El Dorado”, Murrieta's West Coast Bar & Grill is an elegant restaurant and the epitome of a romantic dining spot. Located in an indoor courtyard of the historic Alberta Hotel, the grand space and high ceiling is topped by a glass roof. The sandstone walls add a sense of age, and live music lends warmth and opulence to the large dining area. Murrieta’s also has a popular lounge with an extensive drink selection and live piano on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The service is expert and professional.
Fresh From the West Coast
The restaurant is one of three locations (sister locales are in Edmonton and Canmore) and offers West Coast cuisine such as salads, flatbreads, seafood and pastas — all done with an expert flair. Signature dishes include the tiger prawn tagliattini, ahi tuna tartar tacos, rack of lamb, and salmon with angel hair pasta. Seafood is their specialty.

Murrieta’s West Coast Bar and Grill boasts an impressive wine list, with a selection of over 300 wines from the Pacific Rim region, such as B.C., Oregon, Washington, Chile and California. Wines range from the moderately priced to the downright decadent. But don’t worry if the abundance of choice seems daunting, Murietta's has four sommeliers on staff to assist with any questions.
