The Little Shop that Grew
The whimsical name of this little shop belies how it opened. On A Lark started out slowly by operating mainly at with antique shows, then grew into a three-room affair, and finally bloomed into a popular shop along Okotok’s main pedestrian stroll. Today, the shop is visited by tourist, locals, and even gentlemen who enjoy browsing for a special gift for their wife or girlfriend.

Okotoks makes a great weekend getaway from Calgary, taking only about 20 minutes to get to from the south end of the city. So, it’s no wonder people from Calgary, Airdrie and even Europe are coming to see what the store has to offer. On A Lark is gaining ground with its gifts, antique furniture, and handmade Canadian products that it endorses. Many of the treasures like jewelry, home and garden accessories, and chandeliers come from the Toronto shows the proprietor attends.
