Located centrally on SAIT’s campus, the Orpheus theatre has 341 seats and offers a great venue for a wide assortment of events. Whether it’s a concert, a play or a lecture, it is an ideal space for all sorts of needs. The space is acoustically optimized and offers ample stage space and A/V options. Annual Events
The Orpheus Theatre hosts some great events every year in Calgary, including the Kiwanis Music Festival. This is an opportunity to see Calgary’s talented young classically-trained musicians demonstrating their skills in an esteemed competition. Another event which returns to the Orpheus Theatre every year is ALMA Flamenca, a showcase of guitar artistry and dance mastery of flamenco dancers and musicians from Alberta. There are also events like the Alberta Digital Media awards, showcased to good effect in the Orpheus Theatre space. And if you’re interested in hip-hop, the Orpheus Theatre hosts Slammenberry Jam, an annual hip hop festival, where breakdancers break the laws of physics.
