Far from the madding crowd
Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is perhaps the grandest hotels in Alberta, given its location, nestled in the Bow and the surrounding peaks of the Canadian Rockies. It is also the home of 11 restaurants/lounges. One of their more private lounges is the Ramsay Lounge, a very traditional looking lounge that is as far from the madding crowd in the maze-like “Castle in the Rockies.”
The Before or After Place to be
The Ramsay Lounge’s claim to fame among the Fairmont Banff Springs restaurants/lounges is the fact that it is a perfectly private place for guests to get together before or after dinner. Guests often congregate in this very small lounge to enjoy a cocktail, a port with after dinner treats or choose from selected ports and scotches. Though the Ramsay Lounge doesn’t have a great view of the splendid Bow River and the Rockies, the intimacy of this lounge is great for those who want to sample some eats and great desserts from the Castello Ristorante.
No Reservations
The Fairmont Banff Springs is a tour through a time gone by, with the Ramsay Lounge accessible via the Skywalk Access that brings guests to the Stanley Thompson Wing. The Ramsay is very small, with about eight tables to serve guests. There is also no need to make reservations at this lounge.
