A Live Laboratory,br>Built in 1981, The Reeve Theatre is only one of many of the University of Calgary's venues for theatre arts. The theatre acts as the Department of Drama's personal facility for research and experiments with the dramatic arts. Students and faculty use the theatre as a laboratory, pushing the boundaries of all of theatre's components, including lighting, sound and staging. The stage is used for practise and a handful of performances, but is not available for public booking.

Department of Drama
A career in theatre may not be as far away as you think. Students with the University of Calgary's Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama program are highly successful in their chosen fields upon graduation. Students embark on a four-year program that includes training in academic studies, theatre administration, theatre for young audiences and developmental drama, acting and directing, technical production and design, and film. Exceptional fourth-year students may be chosen for an internship with a local professional theatre organization.
