Close to Calgary
Although Alberta is renowned for its wilderness campsites, those looking to visit Calgary itself will be hard-pressed to find a camping area in the city as they are virtually non-existent. Fortunately, there are several not far from the city, and Riverbend Campground fits the bill.

Camping can be a lot of fun, but often by the time you drive, and reach the site you are too tired to do much. Riverbend Campground is located on the Sheep River near Okotoks, a small town just 27 km from Calgary's city limits. The campground is in the heart of Alberta's ranchlands with a view of the spectacular Rocky Mountains. You can make it your home base and visit attractions in Calgary or as far away as Banff and Lake Louise.
Keep yourself Entertained
Relax by the riverbank, play a game of mini golf, or take the boat out. There is plenty to keep you occupied on site such as horseshoe pits, playgrounds, canoeing and swimming. Let your cares slip away and just relax. Whatever the campground does not offer, you are sure to find in the town of Okotoks, a quaint bedroom community nestled in the rolling foothills. It features 250 sites with both full hookup sites to no hookups. There are also 100 seasonal spots for those who want to have a weekend escape that isn’t too far away.
